(Eric Chomko) made the phosphor on my monitor glow in such a way as to indicate that: : DeLay has never been indicted. Yes. : But you KNOW he isn't corrupt. How? : I don't KNOW he isn't corrupt, but there is little evidence to : indicate that he is, relative to LBJ. He hasn't stolen any elections : that I know of. No, he just redistricts the state in his favor. There's nothing corrupt about that. Or if there is, almost all politicians are corrupt, so your charge is meaningless. |

Did all the Dems in VA leave to a neighoring state rather than vote? That is what DeLay's redistricting did during one congressional state vote in Texas. Yes, it is corrupt, and yes most politicians who participate in gerrymandering redistricting are corrupt. The fact that it is pervasive is not at all an indication that it is not bad. |

The fact that it is pervasive is not at all an indication that it is not bad. I didn't say it wasn't bad. In fact, I think that it's one of the biggest problems of our politics right now, because it entrenches incumbents and makes them unaccountable to the voters. As someone once said, voters should pick their representatives, instead of the latter picking the former. But it's a different class of "bad" than outright vote fraud and bribery. |

I'm not happy about gerrymandering that the Democrats do in Maryland anymore than I am about the Republicans in Texas. Eric |
