Amazing images. I'm sure most of us would be happy with an image of
that quality of Saturn, never mind Uranus. That AO system seems to
work pretty well.

I need a 10m telescope...

I thought the point of putting these scopes on mountains was that most
of the atmosphere was below them. The with and without AO pics show
that there's still enough atmosphere above them to screw the
imagefairly comprehensively. I'm amazed that poor sods like me (at sea
level) can see anything at all.

well, you're right, poor sods like us *don't see almost anything at all*.
Take a look at Uranus and you'll just barely be able to discern its very
tiny disk of under 4 arcsec in diameter . No rings or surface features .
Those images have features of less than 0.05 arcsec , truly amazing.

Nice work I'd say. I knew that band would be "doable" with amateur
gear now.
