Default phenomenon

Has there been reported a flash of light appearing
for a few seconds in the vicinity of Tau Herculis
at about 1100 UTC? It might have been an aircraft,
but looked to me rather different. It was as bright
as Venus in the pre-dawn.

It is probably an Iridium flare.

Go to www.heavens-above.com, enter your location and check the last 24
hours for timings of flares.

The flares are reflections from the large mirrored antennae on the
Iridium family of telecoms satellites.

A wonderful sight (and site too for that matter).
