Default SpaceShipOne Flies Again!

Mike Melvill flew SpaceShipOne again this morning to the edge of
space.

http://www.wired.com/news/space/0,26...w=wn_1techhead

This Paul Allen backed endeavor is considering running commercial
flights into space in the future. A ticket will cost you $200,000.00.
This may seem a lot, but is really a bargain compared to the
$20,000,000.00 the Russians charge a paying space passenger.

Who knows, maybe Paul Allen will get us back to the Moon before NASA.
The Moon could be a tourist destination for the high-end customers.

Hi Double-A Well every one knows how I feel about rockets that have
wings(Rube Goldberg) The killed astronaut families are suing NASA,and
Allen has lot more cash than NASA I think he might not like the idea
charging $200,000,for him that is cab fare I would go if he paid me
$200,000(why not?) My big 20 minutes will come when I go over the
falls in my barrel sail boat. Its down hill all the way. I like being
carried away by the spray. Dying in bed is boring, and its been done to
many times. Bert.

Bert...if wings are so bad...why do you think so many of the great minds of
our world are using them on spacecraft?

Hmmm... what are the odds you could be killed by a hurricane - with your name "Herbert" - Bert?

Robert

There are three classes of spacecraft currently operating. The one with
wings is scheduled for retirement in 2010. Its successor probably won't
have wings.

Wings not bad?
Just don't fly too close to the son --
A bad sunburn for sure.
That stuff's hot!
Keep your dog protected;
Try Doggles, protects the world one dog at a time.
Fly high, fly safe.
And by the way, just forget all that red tape:
Poets fly by instinct, they know the rules.
But teachers point the way --
For Heaven is vast, without maps.
So mark the pathless way.

The company who supplyed the engine for SS1 has signed a contract to look
into the designing of their own shuttle type spacecraft and the first artest
image shows a "WINGED" crast lifting off like nasa's shuttles but using it's
own hybred engine and able to glide back too. Name of project is Dream
Chaser. BTW, they are also working on a one use rocket that will be able to
lift small to med sized payloads into low earth orbit, also using their
hybred engines.
