Default Electromagnetic changes in the solar system; Score - Mainstream 0;New Astrophysics 1

List of Changes to Our Solar System

These increases seem to be due to increased fuel to the sun. If that is
true, such events will continue to increase over the next few years.

* A 300% increase in the amount of "severe" solar activity than
what was formally predicted for the year 1997 alone (NASA 1998)
* A 400% increase in the speed that solar particle emissions are
capable of traveling through the energy of interplanetary space (NASA
1997-2001)
* A 200% increase in tornadoes in unexpected areas such as Maryland
from 50 years ago. Planetophysical State of the Earth and Life by Dr.
Dmitriev (1997)
* A 400% increase in the overall number of natural catastrophes on
Earth between 1963 and 1993 (Dmitriev 1997)
* A 230% increase in the strength of the Sun's magnetic field since
1901 (Lockwood, 1998)
* 9 out of the 21 most severe earthquakes from 856-1999 AD occurred
in the 20th century (Russian National Earthquake Information Center, 1999)
* A 400% increase in the number of earthquakes over 2.5 on the
Richter scale since 1973 (Manderville 1998)
* A 500% increase in Earth's volcanic activity between 1875 and
1993. For increases between 1973 and 1998 see the graph below
(Mandeville 2000 )
* In a New York Times article, Peter Becker, a scientist at the
Federal Standards Laboratory, an institution of 1,500 scientists
dedicated entirely to improving the ability to measure things precisely
admits that the kilogram standard comprised of platinum-iridium is
getting lighter.
* Recent magnetic pole shifts of Uranus and Neptune, as Voyager 2
observed their magnetic axes being significantly offset from their
rotational axes (Dmitriev 1997)
* Visible brightness increases now being detected on Saturn (
Dmitriev 1997)
* 200% increase in the intensity of Jupiter's magnetic field from
1992-97 (Dmitriev 1997)
* 200% increase in the known density of Mars' atmosphere
encountered by the Mars Surveyor satellite in 1997 (NASA 1997)
* Significant melting of Martian polar icecaps in just one year,
clearly seen in satellite photography (NASA 2001)
* Significant physical, chemical and optical changes on Venus,
including a sharp decrease in sulfur-containing gases in its atmosphere
and increasing brightness ( Dmitriev 1997)

Just won't learn, will you? Earth's volcanic activity has NOT
increased at all. That's a doomer and gloomer claim which is totally
false.

Dmitriev has been clearly shown (BY ME!) to be a crackpot and liar.
Venus is no brighter right now than it should be. Dmitriev's claim
is from 1997? They why do I see no difference in brightness this
year? You keep posting this claim when it is clearly false.

The rest of his claims are still crap! Quoting him is a waste of
time. Most of the rest are of equal quality, I'm sure, e.g., the
Yellowstone super volcano is dependable (see the url below)? The poor
thing is now 40,000 years late in blowing its top? Ah, poor thing!
Anyone who can claim that these time spans are fixed is a CRACKPOT and
has no idea of how reality works! Yes, the Yellowstone region will
have active volcanism again, but we have no idea when it will occur.

Quit quoting CRACKPOTS most of the time!

On reading more of the trash in the link at the end of the Mad Fool's
post, there is more to say!

Increased fuel in the Sun? Huh? The fuel being used right now to
produce the Sun's energy is buried deep in the center where the fusion
reaction occurs. It would take A LONG TIME for new fuel dumped on the
outside of the Sun to work its way down to where the energy is
produced. It also takes A LONG TIME for that energy to work its way
out of the Sun to where it is radiated into space and would (yeah,
sure!) produce the changes the Fool is quoting. Besides, this assumes
that astronomers know that the Sun's bulk gets fully mixed over a long
time. The mix time may just end up being many times the age of the
Sun!

Dr. Jeffrey Linsky (U. of Colorado, Boulder) is quoted as saying that
the cause of these changes ISN'T DUE FOR 3000 YEARS! The G-cloud
hasn't reached the Sun yet! But, but, but..."List of Changes..." is
claiming that these supposed changes are already occuring! No cause
and effect there! This stuff is as bad as Nancy's schizo dreams!
TOTAL CRACKPOTISM! As I've said befo There are no electromagnetic
changes going on in the Solar System, period!

Oh, by the way, I've met Dr. Linsky and have visited his office in
Boulder (NICE VIEW!).

Kozyrev is also a nutso: The aether theory was thrown out a long time
ago.

I have it on EXCELLENT authority (no less than Siebert at the
Smithsonian) that the amount of vulcanology has remained pretty
constant and steady over millions of years. There's a graph, and an
excellent study on it. In the excellent encyclopedia he co-wrote,
they point out that our *recording* of events has improved, and we pay
attention.

He shows a "dip" in reported volcanic activity globally around the
Great Depression, and especially in the Pacific during the years 1941
to 1946.

So was there less volcanic activity so we could fight the Japanese?

No, because there is geological evidence to show continuous volcanic
activity during those years, the same as normal.

People were just too busy with other things to report and monitor the
activity.

They also point out that we have gotten very sophisticated at
recording such things.

AFAICT, Yellowstone has been bulging for several years. If it goes up,
it will be a mess.

However, there's no need to try to link the activity of Yellowstone or
anywhere else for that matter, to sunspot cycles.
