Honestly, I'd have to say "How long after sunset can you pick out
Polaris with the unaided eye? Honestly, I'd have to answer, "Until shortly before sunrise." How 'bout, "How soon after sunset can you pick out Polaris with the unaided eye?" sorry, just playin' along... ![]() SSX |

![]() Honestly, I'd have to say "How long after sunset can you pick out Polaris with the unaided eye?" beats it hands down. The answer to this grammatical type is, "from the time it first appears to the time it disappears!!!" So I should have been more clear for the mentally challenged when I first raised the issue. My appologies. But, I did get my answer from representatives from the normal side of the SAA population. Thank you. |

![]() Hi the It depends on where on the earth you live, i.e. your latitude and the time of year. At the equator the length of twilight is much shorter than at mid-latitudes such as Europe or USA. "Moon River" wrote in message news ![]() How long after sunset can you pick out Polaris with the unaided eye for polar aligning? The best I seem to do is almost an hour or 50 minutes after sunset. |
