Is an attempt to list Hohmann transfer launch windows between solar-system planets. The web page has Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and Jupiter but the downloadable Excel spreadsheet has all the planets out to Neptune. Since the sheet assumes circular, coplanar orbits, it would approximate Pluto's orbit very badly. And Excel seemed to balk at having more than 8 If statements in a cell. I think the Excel sheet is O.K. but I'm hoping some of the math wizards that frequent these groups will check it to see if it's giving good launch windows. I have also posted this to rec.arts.sf.science and rec.arts.sf.written. if anyone finds misteaks I will try to correct them promptly. Regards, -- Hop David http://clowder.net/hop/index.html |
