Wonderful stuff, Daniele!
Especially after realizing that my internet accelerator was reducing the
quality of images.
I just right clicked and chose show original image. I hope that others who
have dial-up/accelerators
realize what must be done. ;^)

Best regards,
Bill

Hi, Daniele,
Thanks for the remarkably detailed pictures of Jupiter's satellites. I
didn't know it was possible. I've bookmarked the page so I can refer to
it again.

The pictures of Uranus are almost too good. Has anyone else got
detail like this on Uranus from a 9" SCT before? I used to barely be
able to make it out as a planet with an 8" SCT.

Venus, now if it looked like that without filters it would be on my
list of favorites.

Nice work nonetheless.

It's amazing, isn't it? I bet it's a combination of meticulous
collimation, very good seeing conditions and skillful processing.
He uses a LOT of frames for each of his shots, it seems.
With planets, my experience has been that seeing is half the battle, or
all the battle if seeing is poor.
With poor seeing, I can't make out Uranus with my 18". With very good
seeing, I can see Neptune very clearly and Uranus looks like Jupiter in
an ETX 90.
Some regions of the country have poor seeing all the time or most of the
time. Unless you travel with your scope, you'll never realize its
potential if you live in one of these areas.

Yes, 5 days to collimate my telescope..

very good seeing conditions and skillful processing.

...and wait for a very good seeing

A lot of best frames

I confirm. It need a very very good seeing. And an appropriate
processing of raw image.

Some regions of the country have poor seeing all the time or most of the
time. Unless you travel with your scope, you'll never realize its
potential if you live in one of these areas.

Yes. I'm very lucky because I have good seeing for many days per year.
