Hi Robin,

For a new starter I will always recommend "Turn left at Orion". It's a
great practical observing book and written for small telescope users by an
enthusiastic author.

It will take you through many interesting objects visible in each of the 4
seasons, and show you how to find them, tell you what they are, and it
includes drawings of what they look like through the eyepiece.

Check out Amazon.co.uk for reviews, etc.

Best wishes and clear, dark skies.

I appreciate recommendations of useful books on practical amateur

astronomy
for someone with a basic 60mm refractor.
Also any useful websites.
Thanks
RN
