Default should i buy motor drive?

I do not do astrophotography and dont plan on it. But someone told me i
should invest in a dual motor drive. Being a beginner was wondering what you
all think about that.
thanks

What scope have you got?. What mount?.
Basically, a _single_ motor drive, is extremely useful, on a scope mounted
on a GEM. It moved the mount like a clock, keeping a star centred in the
field. This can make a massive difference to watching a lot of objects,
especially when working at slightly higher magnifications. With one fitted,
it is easier to 'aim' the scope with a hand controller, than to fiddle with
one mechanical knob, and one pair of buttons, so two drives are perhaps
worthwhile.
However if your scope is not on a GEM, this doesn't apply, and the price of
drives will depend on your mount.

Best Wishes

Well said. A simple drive on an EQ mount is a great thing...and the reason I
can't be bothered with Dobs most of the time.

Depends on what kind of scope you have.
