Default Pyramids of Egypt were a Heat Sink for better observation of sky?

Hi All,

I had an idea the other day and I am wondering if anyone has every
proposed it or looked into the idea that the Pyramids of Egypt might be
some sort of Heat-sink to organize the way the day's heat is released to
allow for better observations at night?

If there is anything to it, I think it would be a groovy dissertation by
someone!

Thanks!

Mark

Giant stone heat absorbers are no way to better (clearer) observations
at night. Astronomical observatories are built to prevent any heat
buildup during the day. The goal is to have the structure at the same
temperature as the air outside when dusk occurs. This leads to the
best astronomical seeing when starting the night's observations.

What is your Ph.D. in?

Why all the mystery about the pyramids. They were built to house the
"kings" of Egypt in a safe place. Not very safe it turned out because of
Egyptian grave robbers. We like to read into the pyramids lots of
fantasias. There biggest mystery is how man moved a rock that weighed in
as 20 tons(base rocks) There are greater man made structures. Bert

Some were, Bert, but not all. The best evidence is that the great pyramid
in Giza was built to be used for religious purposes.

They were all built for relegious purposes. A lot of graveyards still are.

All depends on how you define "great" I suppose. There are those who would
argue that the Great Wall of China gives the pyramids a run for their money.

Hi Stinger In the ancient history of Egypt the Farrows had to have a
place to live when dead. So the pyramids were their houses. They took
their best slaves and mistresses ,and ships with them. They set
themselves up as gods. That gave them the power to get a 100,000 people
to build their tombs. With money you can have a pyramid even today.
Gates has enough money to build a pyramid 10 times greater than the
great pyramid of Gazi. It could be made of solid white Georgia
marble, and smooth as silk The seams between the heavy blocks
would be almost invisible. He could make the area of his coffin
impregnable.5,000 years from now people would come from all over the
world to view it. Still being made out of solid marble it would show its
age in time Cracks, and seams opening up. Weather cold and rain taking
its toll. I would like to have a picture of the "Great Pyramid" the day
it was finished. My big hope near my days ending is to go
over the falls in my barrel sail boat, and have my last wishes of
cremation(in my will) be executed. So for me its going over the Niagara
Fall, and then going up in smoke. Bert PS There are stones but
together in So. America that have very fine seams, and it is a mystery
how it was done? The answer to that mystery only takes a little
thought,

Giant stone structures would store and release heat at night... not very
useful for better observation.
