Wow, this is the first one I've seen, and I've been watching meteor
showers for many years (though not as long as you). Have you ever seen more than two parallel tracks? Once I saw 3 trails from the "same" meteor. Started as one track, split into 2 parallel and then split a 3rd time at about a 30 degree angle from the two parallel ones. It looked to me like the 3rd track was skipping in and out of the atmosphere, because it had a broken trail. On-off-on-off for probably half a dozen times and then burned up. Again it was a Perseids. That was the most unusual one I've ever seen, it was pretty amazing to see. F Marion |
