Has anyone used these Taks with an H-alpha filter, and what are your
impressions compared to other eyepieces? The 7.5mm is my favorite at night, but I'd like to find out how well they hold up to Cemax eyepieces for when my PST comes in. |

The Tak 7.5 is one of my favorite eyepieces, too. Unfortunately, its focal length is too short to be useful with your PST. I've tried it and it is too short for my maxscope 60 as well. Well, I have used a 6.4mm Meade SuperPlossl in the PST (62.5x), and it was about as high as I really wanted to go with that instrument, although I could still see a great deal of detail. With a dark cloth shroud, it wasn't too dim an image, although I could still see about the same level of detail that I had seen with the 18mm CEMAX and the 2x Barlow (44.4x). I once pushed the PST to 80x, but at that point, things seemed to be a bit on the dim side. Clear skies to you. -- David W. I was interested in what David said above, and this time tried the TAK LE 7.5 in a really transparent sky this morning. I was wrong, and David is right- the eyepiece is NOT too short, and can give really spectacular views. BTW, the Sun has lots of pretty detail today in H-a. Starry Skies, Rich |
