Default Mirror Cell

While Babylon 8's cell is wood, it's made of two disks with long bolts
and motorcycle springs between them. There are mounting tangs which
the bolts to mount it to the sono tube, these hold it and allow almost
3/4 inch space around the cell, thus keeping the mirror near or at air
temp. the mirror holding disk is slightly smaller than the main back
disk. I figure I could use my dreaml tool to cut out disks to match
them.

With those weights on a EQ mount, I'd be asking for trouble, when
small kits go walking into them.

Oh my B8 cell is home made too.

It seems like a reasonable thing to do. I am guess that your mirror

cell is a
particle board cell like the old Discovery/Orion scopes.
