Default Advice for a second scope

Actually, why not image with the Dob? Planets are bright enough and thus
exposure times short enough that a drive isn't needed. Of course,
software like Registax helps g.

I got a f/7 8" dob in 2002. I have enjoy in quite a bit, but its
limitations are starting to bug me.

I like to watch planets and I would like to image them, but with no
tracking this is a lot of work and imaging is out of the question. I
borrowed a 30 year old scope with an equatorial mount and a drive
motor and I knew the dob's days were numbered.

Dob Driver II?
Tracks any object. You operate the keypad for about 45 seconds, keeping
the object centered, then let go and it tracks automatically. Also has
a go-to. Apparently installs on any type dob. I am considering getting
one for my 18".
