This real animation of the 1882 Venus transit shows some sunspot
configurations that don't make sense.
As Venus changes position over a few hours the sunspots do not remain. I
thought that sunspots stayed over the course of days across the disc of the
sun. In 1882 this seems to not have been the case. Those spots are
drastically different from what we record at present.


It seems to me that you are seeing plate defects rather that sunspots.
