"Steve Wachowski" vrute-a:

Taken from the group sci.space.shuttle, courtesy of Rusty B:

Astronaut Kalpana Chawla was a fan of the band and took three CDs into
space: Deep Purple's "Machine Head" and "Down To Earth," and Rainbow's
"Purpendicular."

That would be Deep Purple's "Machine Head" and "Purpendicular" and
Rainbow's "Down to earth". :^)

Rock Hall, but keep the "Purpendicular" one as a personal memento,
since two members of Rainbow are in the current lineup of Deep Purple.

Well, they are but Rainbow didn't do "Purpendicular". There weren't
two former Rainbow members in DP at the time of the "Purpendicular"
recording.

Caught that "error" myself Svante... and somewhat "glaring" an error...

However, the sentiment is not only received, but also wonderful.

As for the albums (CD's) - The choice of "Machine Head" and
"Purpendicular" are EXCELLENT - two of Purple's best, if not THE BEST.

The Rainbow CD is not their best, but the title and cover picture are
eerily appropriate.

Just in case anybody is wondering, here's the All Music Guide entry for that
album... I hope the URL works:

Details details, Svante, and we might know what album was played by what
band but the rest of the world probably don't give a damn. And then, two
Rainbow-ers in current line-up is true, and where it reads Purpendicular you
should read Down To Earth. Just to correct the corrector.

Well, I caught all that about a second after I hit send. No point in fixing
it after the fact. Fans of the band(s) would catch the obvious errors.
Anyone else wouldn't care. And so it goes.....

Deep Purple, eh? Who's in the line-up now then? ;-)

More original members than on the space shuttle? ;-(

The line up of the band or the line up to be shot ??

Harrie

PS: (serious question brought to you with some mild humour)
is there a possible explanation of why Svante keeps popping up in my ignore
list ? As far as I know I didn't put him there, I like Svante. He's a good
man (oh stop it, will ya). Is there a virus that can do that (besides the
Scottvirus)
