One of the most dangerous things the human race has ever faced, and one which has the potential to destroy our current civilization. Perhaps you haven't noticed but the US has reduced coal energy by 40% over the past decade, solar is projected to increase by 30% over the next TWO years and China is building two wind turbines per hour (half of the world's production). At 4 per hour worldwide, that's 8000 per year assuming a 2000 hour work year. At 1.5 MW/turbine and 6 hours/day, that adds 3 GWHrs to energy production every year. Things aren't so bad. Renewable is small but it's growing rapidly. This is promising, of course. We just have to hope it hasn't come to late. |
