SkyQuest XT Intelliscope

Hi,
Has anyone tested these new Dobsonians yet? How is the altitude
bearings? It seems to me that you need to adjust the friction for the
bearings by turning a knob. How good or bad does this work? Any other
thoughts?

I don't think the new SkyQuests are available yet. You might want to look
at the Yahoo group at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/skyque...guid=132641296 that is
specifically for SkyQuest users. It's a very popular group and worth a
visit.

Hi Steve,

I think they are available. At least I saw some in the Orion store in
Cupertino, and that was quite a long time ago. I cannot comment on the
quality / ease of use, though.

My questions about these is how easy is it to remove the tube from the
base for transportation?
