Radio - HF (high frequency) radio propagation can fade at higher latitudes.
Aurora - Aurora may be seen as low as New York to Wisconsin to Washington state.

The original heliocentric astronomers had ventured into the causes of orbital motion even without knowing anything about electromagnetic conditions that prevail through space. The prevalent notion right up to the time that it all went sideways with Newton's so-called 'Rule 3' was that the rotation of a larger object carried a smaller celestial object around in an orbit like a leaf in a whirlpool -

"The Sun and the Earth rotate on their own axes...The purpose of this
motion is to confer motion on the planets located around them;on the
six primary planets in the case of the Sun,and on the moon in the case
of the Earth.On the other hand the moon does not rotate on the axis of

As the tides are most sensitive to this electromagnetic influences, the original empiricists before Newton considered this 'imparting' feature which is discussed in the 1666 work of Wallis -

Of course , in the 21st century, we have the solar system's galactic orbital motion to enter the mix but this is hampered by nonsensical things like 'warped space' instead of the grounding in electromagnetism. Trying to join experimental sciences with planetary or solar system dynamics directly is so costly as it detracts from normal working language which looks at the clues for electromagnetic signatures including the tides and the position of the moon within that field or planetary bow shocks -

These things are interesting in a speculative sort of way but with this era intent of sticking with a useless narrative inherited from the late 17th century ideology which stopped genuine research ( Wallis is a good example) dead in its tracks all because of an overreaching 'method' -

With so much contemporary data and few who can actually get into the tortured distortions of Newton,this may present an intractable problem unless people just get on with looking at the original scheme which implies electromagnetic influences and greater and lesser rotations on different celestial scales - motion of the galaxy-motion of the Sun- motion of the planets - motion of the moons.

It appears that the first connection between CME's and electromagnetic disturbances happened in the equivalent of a 'supernova' event in 1859, in other words the CME was so large that even telegraph operators at the time recorded the anomalies. Before this auroras were assigned meteorological causes even though its magnetic signatures were registered -

A contemporary analogy between cause and effect would be an Earthquake and a tsunami felt locally as a destructive wave. It is as pointless to discuss a tsunami without the medium of an intervening ocean as it is to discuss a CME felt locally without an electromagnetic field between the Sun and the Earth. The descriptions presently are that a CME releases a burst of radiation into space however it is more productive to think of the event in terms of a tsunami where there is a presence of an electromagnetic field strongly connecting the Sun and the Earth and a CME exposes that connection like a tsunami exposes the underlying mechanism for geological evolution, albeit in a destructive manner.

Simply move on from the meaningless and unstable narratives inherited from other eras about a 'luminiferous aether' and join together different topics that presently are separated. The issue as to whether the moon by its motion creates a local electromagnetic disturbance and effects the tides feeds into the same topic.

The greatest problem is probably academic inertia, regurgitating inherited perspectives in order to maintain reputational respectability. In the atmosphere of an unmoderated forum there is the freedom to open up and use the tools and data for productive ends. The 'WARNINGS' associated with CME's are unhelpful and should be discontinued, after all, the person who presented his report to the Royal Society in 1839 saw the magnetic disturbances just as we do now without attaching shrill declarations to these things.
