I think education may well be helpful in many cases. But I fear that it won't be enough to prevent a level of terrorism the West will not endure or tolerate.

yes of course, but I am not well equipped to fight terrorism. I can shoot a BB gun and a .22, but that's about it. I would lose big time in a real fire fight. So, my weapon of choice has to be knowledge.

If we can convince the Saudi oil Sheiks that knowledge is better than dogma, then perhaps we can get them to funnel funds into large observatory telescopes and space exploration rather than into guns for terrorists.
