I saw a 100mm the other day that was about $1300 per inch of aperture. The good thing is that the used market (except for AP and the like) has incredible bargains. I saw a 127mm TeleVue sell for $3500 and you see TV 76's go for around $1000 sometimes. The lowest priced scopes don't drop in price much used because there is a kind of "floor" of prices of around $250-$300. |

I tend to like larger telescopes for their light gathering power and resolution and smaller telescopes for their transportability. |

Always prefer a larger scope for everything really, but portability has its advantages. |
