NASA isn't going to the Moon or Mars. Being that we still don't seem to have any viable fly-by-rocket landers, that's a safe assumption that Mars and our moon are not going to be directly walked upon any time soon. http://groups.google.com/groups/search http://translate.google.com/# Brad Guth, Brad_Guth, Brad.Guth, BradGuth, BG, Guth Usenet/Guth Venus |

Do not be too certain about that. *NASA is developing landers, manned rovers and space habitats. *The current ones only work on the Earth but given a large grant they could be upgraded. Andrew Swallow They've had decades to up-scale those Apollo landers, and they couldn't manage to pull off one prototype. |

NASA is developing landers, manned rovers and space habitats. The current ones only work on the Earth but given a large grant they could be upgraded. As I pointed, my model on space development is that America should known better; that used by Spain, France England &c. from XVth century; NASA (and state agencies in general) should have the trailblazer role, not only in exploration, but also technologically (after all, Columbus's carracks, esp. the Niņa, gets many A&A's...) as the crown-financed explorated expedition; then some really daring private ventures start to invest in space activities, even manned ones (on the daring nature of the venture, I must point to the fully incorporated name of the financiers of the Pilgrims: London society of *ADVENTURERS* , the last word explain all; they have put their capital in an "profit or failure" venture. this is the core issue; today's capitalism is too centered on excel and powerpoint and the very nature of capitalism (the rewards being proportional to the risks) is, IMVHO, hopelessy lost. Best regards from Italy, dott. Piergiorgio. Our NASA and DARPA no longer have a box to look or think outside of, much less to accomplishing anything outside of their mainstream status quo box of being public funded and thus maintain their failsafe job security. http://groups.google.com/groups/search http://translate.google.com/# Brad Guth, Brad_Guth, Brad.Guth, BradGuth, BG, Guth Usenet/Guth Venus |
