The capture hardware is pretty much the same. What's different is that
SSRMS includes power and data connections in both the arm end effector
and in the ISS grapple fixtures. This not only allows power and data to
flow to complex tools like Dextre, but it also enables the SSRMS to
literally "walk" from one power/data grapple fixture to another on ISS.
Since both ends of the arm are identical, it doesn't matter which end is
grappling ISS and which end is grappling something else.

Swapping out end effectors for different tasks is what my comment was
about, and I should have remembered Dextre because a big deal was made
about it when it was sent up!

The end effector stays on the SSRMS (it's not swapped out). It does,
however have the ability to "grab" other devices, like Dextre, which can
then be controlled through the power/data lines which are connected
through the end effector.
