Any recommendations for a good, field friendly book of Telrad Charts?
Thanks, David "After all is said and done, there is usually more said than done." |

Pick the charts you like the best and make your own telrad overlay from that acetate for printing overhead slides. If you don't have a color printer or a good graphics program a cheapie compass and a red sharpie will do the trick. Can also make "halfs" and "quarters" to fit into folds. I print about 8-12 on a sheet and have them cut in various shapes. Just an idea. Steve |

om... Any recommendations for a good, field friendly book of Telrad Charts? You can get some free ones online to print from: http://www.utahskies.org/deepsky/mes...sierTelrad.htm http://www.utahskies.org/deepsky/cal...wellTelrad.htm Also, Brent Watson's "official" telrad books from http://www.sky-spot.com/skyspot.html are very nice, and rather field friendly (laminated pages, black on white, etc), although the spiral binding can start to come apart after a few years of abuse (something a quick trip to Kinko's easily solved). I own the Messier set and the BTO book, and while they are a bit pricy, they are worth it in my opinion. -- http://www.zansstuff.com/contact.html |

Thanks, David Hi: Have you considered making your own? That's easy to do with the freeware program Cartes du Ciel http://www.stargazing.net/astropc/ Peace, Rod Mollise Author of _Choosing and Using a Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope_ Like SCTs and MCTs? If I'm not mistaken the beautiful charts in Sky Atlas 2000.0 Deluxe Edition
have an acetate overlay with a Telrad bullseye on them. I love mine! Scott |
