Despite the headers saying it was coming from "usenetnow.com", it was
actually coming from an account at "usnetnow.net" - I went to that site and left a formal complaint; this is the reply in full: Hi- Thanks. We took care of it. =========== Scott UseNetNow.Net Support That's all I got, but hopefully, the spammer is gone! |

Yea... guessing by the baker's dozen posted since your post, I'd say you alerted them that someone actually reads these groups and as such have redoubled their efforts... I've just gotten use to using "K" hotkey in Thunderbird to ignore those threads... |

I tried to use my Thunderbird filter system to delete anything with a "@" in the sender name, but unfortunately, it checks not only the sender name itself, but the address it came from, so deletes everything. I say we track the ****er who's doing this down and cut his hands off after blinding him. But that's just one patriot's opinion. ;-) Pat |

Yeah, looking down the group this morning it would seem that if you want to
open a cafe, you are well catered for...grin. I wonder how much of this is generated in the same way as email spam, by infected machines on broad band networks activated by a quick signal from the bot controllers. You can say one thing about the moderators on sci.space.tech though. That crew knows _exactly_where to get any Chinese-manufactured products at the lowest cost. :-D Right now, our local grocery store is selling Chinese laser pointers complete with batteries at $1.00 per crack. They can make these, sell them wholesale, transport them across the Pacific Ocean, and still make a profit on them on a retail price of $ 1.00 |

BTW, note the sender addresses...we are still in the "A" set. That can't be a good sign at all. :-) Pat |

... At least we're not getting that one catamite who kept posting all sorts of criminal record claims against Alan like there was a few years back. Whatever happened to that particular enema bandit, Alan? It's (the "enema bandit" in question) is probably still out there. On one of the aus. groups, it (the "enema bandit" in question) occasionally posts about another victim, but hasn't mentioned me in some time. |

... Yeah. Heckuva job there, Alan. Well, it's better than sitting on my arse and whinging and whining about it. At least I'm trying; what have you done to stop the spammers (other than filtering them for your self)? |
