The Chinese asat test changed nothing??? You have got to be kidding me. No, just shows that you know nothing For starters, it means just about any large asset in orbit is now considered vulnerable. Always have been since the Russians tested their ASATs. They still have theirs It also shows our asat strategy is now obsolete, as every time we shoot down some satellite, the debris will steadily make our asat capabilities less effective. Always knows, nothing new here Our entire space strategy has to be changed. nope We will now focus on putting up much smaller and easier to replace space assets. Not true, the Chinese threat hasn't changed policy since the policy already took into account threat from ASAT's already Such as the 'transformer' idea in this thread. No longer can we envision placing large weapons platforms in space, they will have to be ground based as anything in orbit is vulnerable. What platforms? They are illegal All this means that the Moon is now far more important with our space strategy and especially surveillance for missile defense. Since the Moon, ground based, can protect those assets better than in orbit. Wrong, The moon is too far for surveillance and it only see 1/3 of the earth at a time, not to mention the 24 hr it takes to see the whole earth The moon too far to base any weapons also. As far as kidding anyone, I would say you are trying to kid us that you have some knowledge about this topic |
