When you use this link...
http://www.roe.ac.uk/~jap/slipher/ ....you will come across one of the people who inspired Edwin Hubble and his red-shift work. Very much like Nikola Tesla, Vesto Slipher comes to us without the many trappings of greatness. To many, this probably seems a very great injustice. I happen to think that men like Slipher and Tesla are extremely fortunate. Greatness may be, and probably is, highly overrated! Or maybe it's just the public recognition of greatness? In any case, i personally feel that both Tesla and Slipher are two of the greatest people who ever lived. And here is the very interesting back-up to the domain link... http://www.roe.ac.uk/ Lot's of great astronomers there as well! happy days and... starry starry nights! -- Be very wary... For Life will zooomm past ya, Pay heed when you hear Tempus fugit ad astra! http://www.nelson-atkins.org/tempusfugit/ Dates in calendar are closer than they appear! Indelibly yours, Paine http://www.savethechildren.org/ http://www.painellsworth.net |
