Default Dobsonian mounts

Which type of Dobsonian mount is better: the kind with springs for
tension on the altitude axis (or no springs at all), or the Synta type
with 'tension control handles'?

I'll probably want to try a 2" eyepiece, so I'd like to know which one
can better handle the extra weight/balance.
