I'm not arguing that a mini-ice age is good, only that it is less disruptive than the currently observed warming trend is likely to be. My point is that you still haven't given us your specific predictions on just what the "disruptive" effects of "the currently observed warming trend" are likely to be! We know what the effects of the last cooling trend were. We can see from previous warming trends how plant and animal life flourish. we can see how many past cooling trends were accompanied by mass die offs and we see life literally exploding as soon as it warms. The ONLY disruptive effects that I see in the grand scheme are the purely man made ones caused by over reaction, misguided beliefs, and greed. |

These insulated parochial colonists live on a continent and think its whole world, they don't even play the same sports as the rest of us, let alone trade. At least the Ozzies and Indians play cricket. What are the Canadians good for except catching a cold if the USA sneezes? When I saw that Ice Road Truckers show on TV they were hunting diamonds in the snow, I expect they'd like a little global warming. |

uble.cat wrote: Nosh is imported from all over the globe. Oh, that's true enough. But meat and potatoes and bread usually don't come from all that far away, at least not in the places that make them - and so if they don't have a crop because of cold weather all over the Northern Hemisphere, there won't be that many places from which to import the bulk of their diet. The Chinese might object to starving to death because we've outbid them for their rice crop, and thus they might restrict the freedom of their farmers to sell to the highest bidder. As an example.
