Default Rosamond Street Lights

Last year just before the "Beast" died on me, I had gotten the RSDC (who
controls street lights among other things) to start looking at types of
lights, poles, etc. for lights and to not just rubber stamp them anymore.

At last nights meeting, during the Pulbic fourm I asked how they where now
handling these projects. My answer was they have made a draft for a local
rule for this and their lawer was checking it to make sure all points are ok
and they hope to put it into effect very soon.

This will help groven the lights that are wanted by builders for their
tracks of homes and any other lights on public streets.

Maybe a very small one, but I think of this as a small victory.

My husband and I had a similar victory in our area a couple of years ago.
Astronomers CAN make a difference on their own. Having a good working
relationship with our councilman has been VERY lucrative.

Astronomers - Don't wait around for the IDA to do something when you can
make a real difference in light pollution issues.
