Default First astro 'scope - advice sought

Had a good search but can't finsd any info on this TS Dobsonian:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

or this Starlooker Newtonian:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I know what my gut tells me but does anyone have any knowledge of
these - good/bad/indifferent?

Jim

Models of both of them are being sold by multi places in the USA. Before
buying anykind of a telescope, Please check out the Telescope Buyers FAQ at

Hi Jim,

I can help you on this one. Have a look at their website at
http://www.teleskop-service.de/
(or http://www.telescope-service.com/ for the english version)
I bought an 8 inch Skywatcher Dobsonian from them two years ago (via
ebay as well), and I think it was a fair deal. (They don't sell the
Skywatchers anymore, but they were in the same category as the GSO
ones, I suppose). Their staff seemed to know what they were talking
about ;-), so I don't think they would sell cheap and nasty scopes for
too high a price.. (And their workshop looked rather impress)

I know what my gut tells me but does anyone have any knowledge of
these - good/bad/indifferent?

Dunno about exactly this scope, but the seller is IMHO trustworthy.

Jim

Best of luck,

Joerg

Many thanks, doing a lot of reading before buying and this is
invaluable.
