"Giant asteroid to pass close to Earth"
http://abc.net.au/science/news/scitech/SciTechRepublish_1207289.htm -http://signs-of-the-times.org/signs/signs.htm This article give a brief history of 'end-of-the-world' scenarios, and even has a picture of 'chicken-little with the sky falling on its head. For a more serious take on the upcoming event see space.com's article. "Huge Asteroid to Fly Past Earth Wednesday" http://space.com/scienceastronomy/to...by_040927.html Being a huge sci-fi fan I think that scary stories are more fun. OK, so we know that its not going to hit, but speculating about the horrific possiblities makes it far more interesting. |

It makes all our big worries almost non-existant... mortgage, kids college, electric bill, car payments, on and on. The little worries become significant... fresh water, food, a place to sleep with maybe a tarp over our heads. Bob Carlson |
