Default Binocular Problems

Hi All

I have just bought been given a pair of brand new pair of Bushnell Power
View 7*35 binoculars. Problem is that I can never seem to get them focussed
right. Individually they are fine, the image (or whatever you call it) is
crystal clear but when both eyepieces are used the subject seems distorted.
As the subject appears perfectly through both eyepieces separately I am very
confused, is this a manufacturing fault? Does it sound like something I
could fix myself or should I return them?

Thankyou in advance.

Rich

I have just been informed that this is due to the binoculars not being
correctly aligned, is this something I can fix or not?

Thanks
Rich

Yes,
Your binos should have some kind of recessed covering. Rubber or
leather. Lift the inside top or bottom corners of this covering and
you should find a tiny adjustment screw. Use jewelers screwdrivers to
converge the images.
This site may help you find that tiny screw.

Good luck.

They need collimated. Most binos do not have provisions for users to do
that (Oberwerks and some others do).

Return them.
