Apollo 11 history rewritten :)

Couple days ago, in an otherwise unrelated book review in an otherwise
highly regarded German newspaper, I read to my amazement a remark about
the first man on the Moon -

"... Edwin Armstrong ..."

*boggle*

(I must be getting old. This piece must have been written by some
whippersnapper some twenty years younger than me!

(And who had obviously not availed himself of the treasure trove
of information that is s.s.h...)

After STS-1, our mission control team sent a crew coffee mug to the White
House. We got a signed letter from the Prez thanking us for the handsome mug
commemorating "John Crippen and Andrew Young." We keep that letter framed
for amusement.
