Edwards Vs White Sands

If the shuttle had to land in the west:

How far after the deorbit burn can they change from Edwards to White Sands?
Is there enough energy if they deorbit burn for Edwards, can the shuttle
carry enough energy to make White Sands?

You must select one or the other prior to the burn
then pick the ignition time for that site:

217.....04:05 AM.....05:08 AM...Kennedy Space Center

You know, this is an excellent example to the public on just how fast
orbital velocity is. Wanna land in NM fire retro "NOW", Wannna land
in Florida, just wait 5 minutes then fire the retro's :0
