![]() See http://www.itar-tass.com/level2.html?GroupID=10 (in Russian), just which booster IS it being offered as showing DART's launch? This is only a week after they posted a Sea Launch photo as an illustration of the Russian-French Soyuz-Kourou agreement signing. Well, a rocket is a rocket is a rocket..... |

Compare http://www.sea-launch.com/land-launch/images/zenit-pad-at-lnchcomplex-45.jpg http://www.sura.ru/dragon/fotki/ZENIT2.jpg The towers look like a perfect match to the tass image: http://www.itar-tass.com/img/news_img_1941718_0002.jpg My first thought was Dnepr or one of the other recycled ICBMs, but the flame looks more like lox/kero, and most of the dnepr pictures have a black fairing. e.g.: http://www.arrl.org/news/stories/2004/07/15/2/AO-Echo-Launch-lrg.jpg So, do the owners of itar-tass have a share in zenit :P ? |
