Default Little Known Astronomical History

Isaac Newton, in addition to discovering the law of universal
gravitation and being the co-inventor of calculus, was a
notorious gunslinger, known around Cambridge England
as "Rootin' Tootin' Isaac Newton."

Following in his footsteps, William (Wilhelm) Herschel,
who discovered the planet Uranus, was also known as
"Wild Bill" Herschel.

OK. Good start. But for a stand-up astronomy comedy act you'd need
many more of these. Can you do something with "Annie Jump Cannon"?

The history of the debate of what to call a minor planet between
Dr. Hemor and Dr. Aster. Aster won hence the use of the term Asteroid.
