I don't remember anything being said about this issue... but it can hardly
have escaped their notice that there are serious practical advantages to
putting the operation in an area with generally clear weather and plenty
of uncrowded airspace. That is to say, the US southwest clearly wins big
over the UK for this, and the reduction in legal hassles is not entirely
insignificant either.


What island is it in the UK that has a tax break for space
technologies? Isle of Man? I don't remember any details about this
island; a fellow student from the UK was explaining it to me. He did
mention that Rutan had visited a conference that was held there in the
recent past.

Would this be a good potential launch site, i.e. runway, for SS2?
