To me, it looks like an intrinsically grey rock covered by red martian dust.
How come there's no 'metallic' glint exposed in any images? The
Martian crust must have some ores of at least common metals like iron,
nickel, tin and lead. Nothing showing in any pictures, and here's me
still dreaming of the substantial gold and silver deposits awaiting
discovery... somewhere.
