Bremen, July 1st, 2005 - From 1 July, Evert Dudok becomes EADS SPACE
Transportation's new President. He takes over the role from Josef Kind (58),
who is retiring. Successor to Evert Dudok as Senior Vice-President of the
Earth Observation, Navigation & Science business unit of EADS SPACE's
satellite company EADS Astrium isReinhold Lutz.
Evert Dudok has held various posts with EADS Astrium and its predecessor
companies since 1984. As Senior Vice-President of the Earth Observation,
Navigation & Science business unit and Chairman of Galileo Industries S.A.,
Mr Dudok made an influential contribution to the European Galileo satellite
navigation programme. The 46-year old Dutchman holds a first-class degree in
Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Eindhoven.
Reinhold Lutz (54) succeeds Mr Dudok as Senior Vice-President of EADS
Astrium's international Earth Observation, Navigation & Science business
unit. He was previously Senior Vice-President Strategy & Planning at EADS'
headquarters in Paris. From 1989 to 1999, he headed various business units
of EADS' German predecessor companies Dasa, Dornier and MBB-Raumfahrt.
During his professional career, Dr Lutz has also been a visiting lecturer in
Communications Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, and is
co-author of the book Space Mission Analysis and Design. Dr Lutz is married
with two children.
EADS SPACE, a wholly owned subsidiary of EADS, is dedicated to providing
civil and defence space systems. In 2004, EADS SPACE had a turnover of ?2.6
billion and 11,000 employees in France, Germany, the United Kingdom and
Spain. It has three main subsidiaries: EADS SPACE Transportation, for
launchers and orbital infrastructure, EADS Astrium for satellites and ground
segment and EADS SPACE Services to develop and deliver satellite services.
