Expedition 10 Continues Spacewalk Prep

Aboard the International Space Station on Tuesday, the Expedition 10
crewmembers prepared for the first spacewalk of their mission. They
discussed the event with flight controllers in Mission Control, Moscow.
Flight Engineer Salizhan Sharipov charged batteries in one of the Russian
Orlan spacesuits that will be used during the excursion. He and Commander
Leroy Chiao gathered equipment from around the Station that they will use
while spacewalking.

The 5.5-hour excursion is scheduled for Jan. 26, beginning about 1:25 a.m.
CST (0725 GMT). It has been extended by one hour to give the spacewalkers
time to photograph some external elements of the Station.
Also on Tuesday, the crew completed the daily exercise regimen and
downlinked data from the exercise equipment to the ground.

Over the weekend, Russian flight controllers fired the engines on the docked
ISS Progress 16 spacecraft during a 20-minute, 10-second maneuver that
raised the Station's orbit by about 5.5 miles (9 kilometers).
