Flight 165 - November 23, 2004
Ariane 5 moves to the Final Assembly Building
Flight 165's Ariane 5 G vehicle moved from the integration facility to the
Final Assembly Building, making a startup of the last major phase of
preparations for this upcoming Arianespace launch.
Riding atop its massive mobile launch table, the Ariane 5 was moved along
the double rail line that links key Ariane 5 facilities at the Spaceport in
French Guiana.
With the launcher in the Final Assembly Building, all is ready for Ariane 5
to receive its primary payload - the French Helios IIA military
reconnaissance platform, along with a grouping of six auxiliary satellites.
Liftoff of Flight 165 is set for December 10 from the Spaceport's ELA-3
launch complex.
