(third time I try to send this, now with a smaller attachment, my server is
rejecting it otherwise, or so it seems)

yesterday evening was the first free evening in 2007 that was clear,
although some clouds were racing through the sky as the wind was picking up.

I set up my LX200 for the first time since I moved to this house. Did a
rough polar alignment (no drift alignment) and a one star alignment. Then I
slewed to M42, connected my 350D and started taking pictures.

this is a single 60 second image. I think I see some field rotation,
probably because of the rough polar alignment, or perhaps I should collimate
the scope ? also the focus was not spot on, but I did not have time to focus
as more and more clouds were appearing and rain was forcasted so I had to
stop quite early in the night.

details:
10" LX200GPS, f6.3, 350D prime focus
single 60sec exposure.
