But if the original image is less aggressively compressed than the posted version (if at all) I expect your adjustment layers could be applied to it with a better result. Either that, or apply a large-radius blur to the ostensibly flatter areas, through a mask, before stretching the colour levels. The branches certainly look strange, almost solarized. I was aiming for better contrast between the comet's tail and the background sky, so yeah I did stretch the colour levels a bit much. George |

About the only way I'm going to get to see this one, I'm afraid. We've got some serious rain going on now and all through the weekend with flooding expected come Sunday night. George |
