I'm going to have to make it a practice to take my pictures while I
sleep. I seem to do my best work when sleeping. I took this one a
month ago after I went to bed. When I got up I found I'd miscalculated
and over an hours worth of frames were lost after the scope ran into the
meridian stop. So I never processed it. Last night the game was a romp
so I went in to see if something was salvageable. I had an hour of good
luminosity data and 15 minutes of each color. I'd planned on 90 minutes
of luminosity and 45 for each color but you use what you get. It came
out far better than I expected. Though this was when my Robo-focuser
was dead so as the temperature dropped the scope went out of focus
somewhat. I had to use all frames anyway to get enough data. It
doesn't hurt the galaxy much but you do see it in the stars. Robo sent
me a completely new unit after the repair of the old one failed. It
seems to be working just fine -- It's nice to have a company stand
behind their product.

I seem to see a 50's B movie flying saucer exploding rather than a
galaxy for some reason. Or maybe a loafer shoe, one with those little
tassels in front of where your foot goes in. In any case, I'm glad this
isn't our home galaxy! Is the same going to happen to us when M31 gets
here?

For now, I parted with my imaging gear to by a Harley.

We have a couple club members with Harley's and scopes but not imaging
gear either.

Glad you liked the picture. I am happy with it.

Count me in that category, sorta of.

Got the Harley, no doubt. '86 Sporster.

Scope is a now 20 year old Meade 6600 6" Newt that's not in
the best of shape anymore.

I do some imaging with my digital camera. Does that count?

Anyway, I've actually had both the scope and the bike all
this time together. Well, I think I had the scope a bit
longer, but not more than a year.

Nice.

I'd post pics of mine but right now it's not very photogenic.
Needs some TLC to clean her up. But she runs like a champ tho!
