ASTRO: NGC 289
I still haven't processed all my Namibia images from last August and have
not even posted all of those that I have processed. Here is NGC 289, a galaxy with very extended but faint spiral arms. As it was clear that depth would be more important here than a large image scale I imaged it with 2x2 binning (image scale 0,9 arcseconds/pixel). Taken from Kiripotib farm with a 10" Meade ACF at f/8 on a MK100 mount, Trius SX694 camera, 8x10min Lum, 4x10min RGB each. Stefan |

Boy that has an interesting system of distant arms. Not familiar with the sky below the observatory wall I'd not known of its faint outer arms before.
