ASTRO: NGC 3198
NGC 3198 has always been among my favourites, but I never got decent colour
data for this large galaxy. It was my main target for my recent trip to northern Germany, but only six hours of exposure time were usable as thin clouds and northern lights ruined some subexposures. This was the quickest image processing I have done for quite some time (for a colour image), just throwing the channels together, resizing down to 0,67 arcseconds/pixel and some finetuning in considerably less than one hour. Taken with a 10" Meade ACF on a G11 mount, Trius SX694 camera, 16x10 minutes L, 7x10minutes RGB each. Stefan |

Yep, you are having me weather issues. I've also had some nights ruined by northern lights. Usually you can at least enjoy them but those we've had this year have been very bright but just featureless. Sky looks like a green monitor screen. Only detail was provided by passing low clouds that blocked the light. Looks like you won the battle however.
