Default ASTRO: Omega Centauri (NGC 5139)

I couldn't avoid imaging Omega Centauri in Namibia...

Taken from "Tivoli" farm in Namibia with an ASA 12" astrograph at 1069mm
focal length on an ASA DDM85 mount, Atik 383 L+ camera, 10x2 minutes each
for RGB.

Wonderful image. Makes the trip even if it were all you got.

Looks surprisingly like my visual view in a 12.5" from just north of the
Mexican border in New Mexico and in a 14" scope from New Zealand. Most
globulars get bright toward the center but this one seems to have holes
in the core where you were looking right through it. This shows those
areas to be a lot dimmer than the bright stars across the core.
Explains the visual view quite well.

Rick

Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct.
Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh".

Couldn't avoid it? Are you kidding me? Who could? VERY nice. That ASA
really takes good images.

George
