I did this one to test the sensitivity of my new astronomik H alpha filter.
The Horsehead and Flame Nebulas. This is the first time I've ever been able
to capture these. I'm definitely going to have to revisited these many
times before I am satisfied. Enjoy,.

George,

looks a bit faint, but you didn't say how much exposure time you have here,
so that may be easy to cure.
Actuall for "narrow band" colour imaging I would prefer to use an UHC
filter, preferrably a narrow one that also lets Halpha pass, like the
Astronomik UHC.
This way you will get a colour image in the same time a this "red only"
shot. Of course the Halpha filter filters out more light pollution, but I
still would prefer the UHC filter.

Stefan

It is a bit faint. It was only a four minute exposure in urban skies. I do
have a Celestron UHC filter, and when I tried to image the flame nebula at
the same exposure time, it was much fainter. I plan on doing some deeper
exposures whenever the weather permits. It's been raining here since last
night and loots to rain for another day or two. I like this camera (a
Hutech Canon T1i), and think I will get some good results with it.
